We are on the way....!

Dear colleagues,
We continue working on this new beginning of the school year.  According to  the last meeting on UGEL 04 and UGEL 07, we talked about  "Teaching Unplugged" (given by Fernando Barboza) but...
What is it?
A teaching movement set up by a group of English teachers who challenge what they consider to be an over-realiance on materials nd technical wizardry in current language teaching.
The emphasis on the here-and-now requires the teacher to focus on the actual leraners and the content that is relevant to them.
The focus:
It focuses on emergent language.
It is about teaching which is materials-light.
It is about teaching that is conversation-driven.
How is an UNPLUGGED class?
Teaching should be done using only the resources that teachers and students bring to the classroom.
The source of all "listening" activities should be the students and teacher themselves.
All the teacher´s questions must be "real" questions.
Any grammar that is the focus of instruction should emerge from the lesson content, not dictate it.
Topics that are generated by the students themselves must be given priority over any other input.
Grading of students into different levels is disallowed.
The criteria and administration of any testing procedures must be negotiated with learners.
Teacher themselves will be evaluated, according to only one criterion: that they are not boring.
